About This Cause
Wayward Creatures is located in Stevens County, Washington. All of the animals we take in are from this county, but we are usually willing to transport animals to other areas if arrangements can be made with the animal's foster home. We are a small operation, started by co-workers at a veterinary clinic to assist animals which were abandoned at their clinic. Sadly, this is a fairly common problem, and many veterinary clinics have had their share of boxes of kittens left on the front step. We primarily foster, treat, and re-home animals which are released to us for medical or financial reasons. All animals are fostered in a home or boarded at the veterinary clinic; we don't have a shelter facility. Because of this, we are unfortunately unable to take on very many animals at once, and will selectively take in animals that need more individual care, attention, and treatment than is available at a more standard shelter facility. All funding for these efforts comes from our own pockets or private donations; we are not government subsidized, nor do we receive grants.
