Mission Statement
RE-volv’s mission is to tackle climate change at the local level by empowering individuals to accelerate the adoption of clean energy in their communities.
About This Cause
At RE-volv, we believe that everyone can participate in building a clean energy future and in spreading the word about the benefits of solar energy. Since 2011, RE-volv has financed solar energy projects for 30 nonprofits in 11 states, totaling 384 kilowatts of installed capacity. Our completed projects to date will prevent over 18 million pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere and will save community-serving nonprofits $1.5 Million on their electricity bills over the coming years. Along the way, RE-volv has trained over three hundred volunteers, including students from twenty-two universities, to identify nonprofits that could benefit from solar, spearhead crowdfunding efforts to finance the upfront installation costs of solar systems, and educate community members about the benefits of solar. Our nonprofit partners save on their electricity costs while RE-volv reinvests their monthly payments into more nonprofit solar projects in communities across the country. This creates a revolving fund for solar energy that continually perpetuates itself, building more and more solar exponentially over time. It's a pay-it-forward model for solar energy we call the Solar Seed Fund.
