Mission Statement
The Syrian Emergency Task Force was formed in March of 2011 to respond to the Syrian dictatorship and its allies waging war on innocent civilians. As a 501(c)(3) headquartered in Washington, D.C., SETF works tirelessly to bring an end to the killing in Syria through advocacy, humanitarian initiatives, and the pursuit of justice and accountability for war crimes. Today, SETF stands as the most notable American organization working on Syria, as evidenced by the impact we have made both on the ground in Syria and the U.S.
About This Cause
The Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF) has been at the forefront of addressing the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2016. Our mission is to provide direct aid, advocate for the protection of civilians, and support initiatives that aim to restore peace and stability in Syria. With the ongoing conflict and its devastating impact on millions of Syrians, the need for coordinated efforts and strategic partnerships has never been more critical. SETF's primary objectives are as follows: 1. Humanitarian Assistance: Provide immediate relief to Syrian civilians affected by the conflict through food distribution, medical aid, shelter, and education. 2. Advocacy and Awareness: Raise awareness about the Syrian crisis on an international level and advocate for policy changes that promote peace and protect human rights. 3. Capacity Building: Empower local Syrian communities and organizations by providing them with the resources, training, and support needed to sustain their efforts in rebuilding their lives and communities. 4. Peacebuilding Initiatives: Support dialogues, initiatives, and programs aimed at fostering peace, reconciliation, and the rebuilding of civil society in Syria.
