Mission Statement

SR3 rescues and protects marine animals. With your support, we will free whales from life-threatening entanglements, heal injured seals to bound joyfully back to the sea, and champion protections for endangered animals. Our mission: to promote the health and welfare of marine wildlife in the Pacific Northwest.

About This Cause

SR3's rescue and rehabilitation hospital gives suffering marine animals a second chance at life in the wild. Through our research work, we aim to understand and help address the threats faced by the endangered Southern Resident killer whales. Here is more about what we do every day with your help! RESPONSE From tiny injured seal pups to entangled humpback whales, suffering marine animals receive the expert, emergency care they so urgently need. REHABILITATION SR3 operates the only marine wildlife specialty hospital in the Pacific Northwest. This hospital is enabling second chances for many marine mammals for the first time in the region. RESEARCH Marine animals act as early warning signals of environmental threats to human health. By identifying the causes of illness or injury in marine wildlife, SR3 monitors ocean health and drives conservation efforts. A major focus of our research is the endangered Southern Resident killer whales to help inform conservation actions important to their survival. With your support, SR3 will continue making the Pacific Northwest a safer and healthier home for marine animals - and for all of us!
