Mission Statement
Mastiff Rescue of Florida, Inc.(MRF) was formed to help provide needy mastiffs with a second chance for a home and family. MRF strives to prevent cruelty to Mastiffs and to place cruelty cases, stray or abandoned Mastiffs in adoptive homes which will provide a high level of care. We also assist Mastiff owners who can no longer provide a home for their dog. MRF since 2017 initiated a program HAND TO PAW..which enables owners to keep their much loved mastiffs and sometimes the cats and other dogs in the family by paying the vet bills and sending food for 3 months.. then it is reevaluated. We have helped nursing students complete their education and keep their dogs, several retired citizens keep their dogs. And several others giving them a financial and safe bridge for their pets till their lives got on an even keel. This is a very positive program. MRF is all about the dog and with that comes educating the adopter/owner. We have developed a training program. We also educate on proper nutrition.
About This Cause
The primary objective of MRF is to rescue and provide medical care and placement of Old English Mastiffs, primarily in the state of FL, with families able to provide a safe, loving, permanent home. Oldies but Goodies program.. 7 years and older English Mastiffs are put into permanent loving foster homes. MRF pays all vet bills and sends supplies the foster supplies the love and good food. Hand to Paw program..we give a helping hand to owners that are in a temporary financial period and MRF sends food and pays the vet bills. 99% of the time the animals are able to stay with their humans. It is a very successful program.
