Vietnamese Youth Movement is a non-profit organization that aims to nurture in young people the values and skills that enable them to become good family members, community participants, and global citizens.
About This Cause
Vietnamese Youth Movement is a non-profit organization that aims to nurture in young people the values and skills that enable them to become good family members, community participants, and global citizens. Some of the year-round activities include annual summer leadership training camps, cooking and serving lunches/dinner for the poor on the Thanksgiving, toys drive on Christmas Season for the economically disadvantaged children, and visiting local nursing homes. In addition to that, Vietnamese Youth Movement focuses on training young Vietnamese-American the knowledge and competence to develop as a bilingual and bi-cultural youth who embrace and make the best of the two cultures, traditional family Vietnamese culture and mainstream American culture. We are hoping that this practice builds a bridge between the two generations in one family. Some of the cultural activities include celebrating Vietnamese New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Dragon Dance, and visiting an extended family member once per month.
