Mission Statement
Our mission is to erase the stigma surrounding mental illness through supportive classical music ensembles and inspiring performances.
About This Cause
Me2/ ("me, too") is the world's only classical music organization created for individuals living with mental illness and the people who support them. We currently host orchestras in Burlington, VT and Boston, MA and Manchester, NH. We also have a Flute Choir and a Chorus in Boston, and we launched a new Chorus in Burlington VT in 2024. Approximately 50% of our musicians live with a mental illness, such as bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, OCD, schizophrenia, or addiction. There are no auditions or fees to participate in Me2/ ensembles. We are a multi-generational, inclusive organization. We perform in both traditional venues (recital halls, churches) as well as non-traditional locations (prisons, treatment centers). Me2/ performances combine great music with brief stories from our musicians that aim to reduce stigma.
