Mission Statement
The mission of the Albertine Books Foundation, Inc. is to raise public awareness of French art, culture, literature, visual and performing arts through four activities: the organization of conferences on artistic and education subjects; access to exhibitions and a reading room and resource center for individuals interested in french culture; the dissemination of French educational publications; and the distribution of grants to organizations which promote French culture.
About This Cause
The Albertine Books Foundation, Inc. raises public awareness of French art, culture, literature, visual and performing arts through a variety of programs such as the Albertine Festival, the Albertine Prize,a nd the famous Albertine bookstore. A project of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the Albertine bookshop brings to life the French government’s commitment to French-American intellectual exchange. The space reflects its belief in the power of literature and the humanities to increase understanding and friendship across borders, and in the power of books as a common good for a better world. In partnership with the Cultural Services, Albertine hosts lively debates and discussions exploring popular and classical culture through a modern and global lens.
