About This Cause
The Neighborhood Church has been called to Bentonville with a vision of “Change Church. Create Relationship.” The dynamic first part of our vision to Change Church recognizes that we, as a Body of Christ, are changed each time someone new enters this church. Additionally, we recognize that we are not asking them to conform to who we are, but together understand how are we transformed. As a church, we welcome and embrace change and see it as an opportunity. Not Just Sunday Morning / Is Sunday Sacred / Sunday to Monday. In our 10-year journey, we discovered that an important change needed in the church is a move to “not just Sunday morning.” Being made new by Christ every day means that The Neighborhood has an incredible opportunity to break the walls of the church on Sunday morning and open the doors to Create Relationship every day. Go and Make / Meet the People where they are / Innovate Sunday School. Recognizing the growth of Bentonville, The Neighborhood Church can learn from the Benton County School District and their growth. Having added 4 new elementary schools in a 3 mile radius in SW Bentonville, the growth of families with children is undeniable. The question we need to ask is “can The Neighborhood Church curate content and curriculum to meet the needs of those families in a way that brings people closer to a relationship with God?” Bridging the gap of family and faith, Preschool to Elementary School, of faith formation and education. We believe that as a faith-based institution, The Neighborhood Church can be a model of innovating teaching methods and development in the lives of kiddos. TNCU. The Neighborhood Church University is a unique catalyst in the wider Lutheran Church seeking to lead innovatively, experiment creatively, and teach sustainability alongside churches. This catalyst extends down into the lives of families within the local church. One example of a problem TNCU seeks to solve is the need for a technologically-driven education platform for kids that is conducive to the current reality of our education system, in-person and virtual. We want to create this new model of education that embraces a both-and reality for families.
