Mission Statement
Bellevue Discovery supports highly capable children, their families and the community. We accomplish this by: 1. Nurturing our children's limitless potential and creativity in Bellevue Discovery Preschool 2. Supporting our families in the development of each child's unique gifts 3. Fostering understanding in the community of the educational, social and emotional needs of highly capable young children
About This Cause
Bellevue Discovery is a non-profit Inquiry Learning preschool for highly capable children; we believe every child deserves to have a joy-filled preschool experience that supports their innate desire to learn. - Our primary focus is social-emotional learning; we foster resilience, executive function skills, and school readiness as our children build a community and grow in their friendships - We have a creative curriculum that follows best practices in early childhood gifted education: combining play-based exploration, skill-based instruction, and in-depth project-based learning - We have a 1:4 teacher-child ratio; our experienced and loving teachers all have Bachelor’s degrees - Each classroom has two homerooms and a dedicated Early Childhood Specialist - Our homerooms have a maximum of 12 children and 3 teachers to build a caring community - Our preschool serves children ages 30 months to 5 years; children must be 30 months by August 31 - 88% of Bellevue Discovery’s preschoolers have moved on to gifted programs since our founding in 2007
