Kansas City Pet Project is the 501(c)3 nonprofit that operates the animal shelter and Animal Services for Kansas City, Missouri.
About This Cause
Kansas City Pet Project operates the Kansas City, MO animal shelter. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit group in operation since 2012 when we were formed to take over operations of the shelter. We care for over 15,000 pets a year including all of the lost, abandoned, and owner surrendered pets for Kansas City, MO, residents. In 2020, we took over Animal Control and now operate Animal Services for Kansas City, MO. We are the largest No-Kill shelter in Kansas City. We have 14 locations to adopt from in the Kansas City metro area and work to reunite lost pets with their owners. Within the last two years we have launched our Keep 'Em Together, KC program that focuses on assisting pet families and keeping them together during difficult moments. We also launched our Healthy Pets KC initiative that will assist Kansas City, MO residents with low-cost veterinary options for their owned pets.
