Mission Statement
Cake4Kids was founded in September, 2010 to help foster kids and at-risk youth feel special at least one day a year and to raise their self-esteem knowing that people care for them. The primary method of mission delivery is by providing free birthday cakes to foster care and at-risk youth who wouldn’t otherwise have a birthday celebration.
About This Cause
Cake4Kids is powered by an amazing group of volunteers who bake cakes in their homes; delivering the magnificent birthday cakes to youth signed up with our organization. Youth range in age from 1 year to 18 years but each one is delighted to be recognized and receive a special cake baked just for them. The delight and joy in their faces when they receive their large pink or white box is so rewarding. Basic life needs like blue jeans, backpacks, pajamas and food are essentials that every child needs and hopefully gets with the help and support of wonderful existing organizations around the Bay Area. Cake4Kids wants to bring a smile to a child’s face. We hear over and over from our service providers how the youth we are helping would not have a birthday or a birthday cake if it were not for the love and generosity of Cake4Kids volunteers.
