Mission Statement
Global Community Charter School (GCCS) is a Harlem-based PreK-8 school offering a rigorous, inquiry-based education driven by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) curriculum, and is also heavily influenced by the arts - each student participates in music, dance and visual art classes to enhance their understanding of classroom-based learning. GCCS's school day also offers social & emotional supports to our students, with behavior specialists at each grade level. GCCS believes that global citizenship begins with local responsibility. We believe that an engaged and imaginative understanding of the world begins at home. In partnership with parents, children are encouraged to become passionate learners fully connected to the rapidly changing world in which we live. In a neighborhood as diverse and vibrant as Central Harlem, every block provides new opportunities for learning and inspiration!
About This Cause
Our History Global Community Charter School was founded on the premise that all students are entitled to an exciting and enriching school experience. In an attempt to elevate the curriculum and empower students located in Harlem, the founders adopted the most compelling programs available to guide the development of their students.
