Mission Statement
Wings of Rescue flies large scale transports of at-risk pets from disaster areas and overcrowded shelters to safe havens where there is empty kennel space and where no local shelter pets are displaced by our flights. We also fly in humanitarian supplies to disaster areas and sponsor spay/neuter events.
About This Cause
Wings of Rescue flies dogs, cats , rabbits and other pets from overcrowded, often high-kill, shelters to facilities where these pets have guaranteed safety and where no local shelter pets are displaced by our flights. We have also become one of the leading emergency responders for pets in the country and at the same time deliver emergency humanitarian aid on each flight. We have responded to Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria, Florence, Michael, Dorian, Ian and all the hurricanes which struck Louisiana in 2020. We responded to the California earthquakes and to flood situations in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Iowa and Arkansas. We responded to the devastating earthquakes in Haiti and the volcanno that erupted in St. Vincent. We have flown cats belonging to U.S. military personnel in Guantanamo Bay to their families after these personnel were rotated back to their homes. We have funded Operation Pit Stop which provides free spay/neuters and vaccinations to low-income people. When disaster strikes and when populations are in need, Wings of Rescue will be there.
