Mission Statement
Fields of Dreams Uganda has the mission of providing hope, empowerment and a future for the vulnerable children of Uganda through the vehicles of soccer and education.
About This Cause
The current dropout rate in the Universal Education System in Uganda sits at 68%. That essentially means that 7 out of every 10 students in Uganda's education system is doomed to never finish their basic primary education. Fields of Dreams Uganda exists to provide hope to these very children through the vehicles of soccer and education as we raise up and develop the future leaders of this great nation. Soccer is the world's game, and it is certainly Uganda's most treasured sport. To capitalize on Uganda's love of soccer, Fields of Dreams Uganda has instituted quality soccer programming at our partner schools along with focused education initiatives, in order to drastically decrease the dropout rates and absenteeism that is plaguing Uganda's primary schools. Fields of Dreams Uganda believes that sports have the power to change a child's life and purpose; that child has the power to change his or her community; that community has the power to change its nation; and that nation has the power to change the world. Sometimes immense change occurs with a child, a soccer ball, and someone willing to believe that their life matters.
