Mission Statement
The mission of The Bridge is to empower adults experiencing homelessness in Dallas with the tools to homeless recovery as they move into sustainable housing.
About This Cause
The Bridge is first and foremost a homeless service provider. As the only 24 hour shelter providing services to all adults in the city of dallas, The Bridge assists more than 85% of those experiencing homelessness each year. The Bridge provides nutritious meals, emergency, and transitional night shelter, personal hygiene supplies, laundry, a library, phone access, and mail/storage services to an average of 650 adults experiencing homelessness each day. Bridge guests can also participate in educational and recreational activities, stop by the barbershop for a haircut or visit the workforce computer lab to apply for a job. Medical and behavioral health care services are provided at The Bridge including screenings, acute and chronic disease care, mental health and chemical dependency services, and recovery assistance. The Bridge also provides income services by assisting with job preparedness and job-search activities, enrolling those eligible into Medicaid and Social Security disability programs, and military benefits. Most importantly, The Bridge assists guests in securing affordable and permanent housing as the final step in their recovery.
