About This Cause
Charitable and educational support of Mt Si High School band and orchestra programs. Mount Si High School is in Snoqualmie, Washington and is the single comprehensive high school in the Snoqualmie Valley School District. The district is one of the geographically largest in the state, serving communities from Ames Lake to Snoqualmie Pass, including Fall City, Snoqualmie, and North Bend, WA. Please go to the district website for more information. The Mount Si High School Band Program involves more than 200 students who play in one or more of its eight ensembles. Similar to high school athletics, musicians practice teamwork, self-discipline and accountability skills. What many Valley residents don’t realize though is that the music programs excel, competing at both state and national levels. Our website lists the many awards won over the years but what might be most notable is the Jazz 1 ensemble‘s multiple invitations to the Essentially Ellington competition in New York five out of the past six years (electing to perform in 2017 at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago instead). Only 16 high school jazz bands across the entire nation are invited to perform at this competition, evidence of our band directors' dedication and commitment to our Valley's youth and their ongoing maturation in music. The Mount Si High School Band Boosters program supports all ensembles as a fund-raising arm, raising money for performances, competitions, clinics, trainings, scholarships and more.
