About This Cause
We are a fearless, completely 100% volunteer run, nonprofit serving the needs of Tampa Bay’s pediatric cancer patients in our community for a dedicated 12 years. This nonprofit bloomed from a sister’s love for her little brother who lost his battle with cancer treatments at only 6 years old. The fact that Lawrence died needlessly from the harsh cancer treatments yet cancer free affected Luana deeply. Something needed to be done. That’s when she discovered a local research lab working towards a prevention! A pediatric leukemia vaccine! Imagine a prevention to Leukemia! Since then, the Lawrence A. Martucci Benefit Foundation has been honoring Luana’s brother by contributing over $700,000 to pediatric cancer prevention research and the families going through treatment. Lawrence’s tragic end will not go in vain and will never be forgotten. Our foundation has been recognized by the Lightning Hero Foundation and earned the 2020 Best of Tampa Award in the Charity Organizations category. Let’s work together to end the suffering of harsh cancer treatments in children.
