Mission Statement
The mission of the CORE Foundation is to provide financial scholarships and educational support to individuals with spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions.
About This Cause
The CORE Foundation, a 501c3 charitable organization founded in 2011, provides financial scholarships and educational support to individuals with spinal cord injuries or other neurological conditions. The focus is on making activity-based restorative therapy available to those faced with the challenges of paralysis. Most training services are provided by CORE, Center Of Recovery and Exercise, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Since inception, the CORE Foundation scholarships have increased each year and grew to over $90,000 in 2019. In 2017, the CORE Foundation expanded scholarships to include aquatic training at a new CORE facility. To see the equipment and programs offered at CORE, please visit www.coreflorida.com. The new facility exceeds 6,400 square feet, and incorporates unique resources not previously available in Central Florida. One example is the SWIMEX EXERCISE POOL: swimex.com. The Professional Triton Exercise Pool with Integrated Motorized Treadmill and Hydrotherapy Jets is used to enhance paralysis recovery with aqua mobility and balance programs. 100% of gifts support the CORE Foundation Scholarship recipients who would otherwise be unable to afford the needed activity-based training. The current CORE Foundation budget allows for $8,000 in monthly scholarships, however, the demand for scholarships is much greater. Again, 100% of all new donations will expand the availability of scholarships for activity-based training.
