Mission Statement
Compelled by the Gospel, we seek to bring hope and healing to the least of these. Jesus speaks of the “least of these” in Matthew 25, and says that when we care for this group of people, that we actually care for Jesus Himself. It is from these words in Matthew 25, and the calling of God, that the ministry of the 25 Project was born and exists. While the “least of these” comprises a broad range of people, the 25 Project is specifically focused on bringing hope and healing to orphan and vulnerable children. A quick survey of our world unfortunately shows millions upon millions of children who are orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable. Children belong in families, not on the streets and not in institutions. God’s perfect design for them is to be raised in a home by a loving family who will nurture, instruct, and disciple them to live for Him and share Him with a lost world.
About This Cause
The Gospel The Gospel is at the heart of everything we are and everything we do at the 25 Project. II Corinthians 5:21 says, “For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” We exist because of the Gospel, and the grace and mercy that flows from what was accomplished through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a lost world. Every single act, every deed, every act of love and care, every meal given and served, all of it…the motivation, the drive behind everything is simply and sufficiently the Gospel. The Church The chosen and called instrument to which God has ordained to take the Gospel to the world is the Church (Acts 2:42-47; Acts 13-14, ). The 25 Project is not the Church, and we never pretend or attempt to take the place of the Church in any circumstance. We are here to support, uphold, and help mobilize the Church to fulfill it’s God given purpose. And so at the heart of all we do is a cooperation, dependence, partnership, and support of the local Church. The Least of These God’s call on us as an organization and ministry is focused on those Jesus refers to in Mathew 25 as the “least of these”. Jesus says, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me… Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” As a ministry, we are specifically focused on ministry to orphan and vulnerable children. Our aim is to provide holistic care and ministry addressing the spiritual, physical, economic, and educational needs of those we serve. Bringing Hope to the least of these is the calling we feel has been placed upon us an organization, and it is to this segment of people to whom we are committed to serving.
