About This Cause
According to the United Nations, 11 million Syrians (around half of its population) is in need of immediate assistance. Today, Syrians are the largest refugee population in the world. Sunrise-USA is committed to provide aid to families, orphans, and widows affected by the conflict. We have been on the ground since the start of the conflict, and through our well-established humanitarian network of hundreds of workers -mostly volunteers- we have been delivering various types of aid throughout Syria and bordering countries. Seeing the rapidly deteriorating state of affairs, the Syrian Sunrise Foundation, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, independent of any political or religious agenda, was established in 2011. Since March 2015, the organization has been operating under a new name: Sunrise-USA. The name change reflects a global vision within our programs and relief activities. A significant expansion of our nonprofit work will extend beyond Syria to provide for refugees, emergency relief, infrastructure and socio-economic developments with an international scope.
