Mission Statement
The mission of Renesting Project, Inc. is to reclaim, renew, and renest. We reclaim by receiving/gathering gently used furniture and household items. We renew by cleaning, repairing, and/or repurposing furniture and household items. We renest by providing the gently used furniture and household items, the comforts of home, rest, and retreat, to those in need in Bossier & Caddo Parishes.
About This Cause
Renesting Project, Inc. is a volunteer-powered furniture bank serving Caddo & Bossier Parish. Think "food bank" but for furniture and other household items! Renesting Project, Inc. partners with over 40 local agencies to meet the furniture/household needs of their clients. Agencies send client applications to Renesting for verification and then we prepare the items the client has requested for themselves and their family. Renesting Project, Inc. offers three levels of service to those in need: Pick-Up, Delivery, and Renest. Pick-up allows those we are serving to come to our warehouse and pick-up the furniture pulled for them. The delivery option allows clients to have their items delivered to their dwelling. Renests, our personal favorite, is the option for clients to have their items delivered to their dwelling and set up by Renesting volunteers- we hang curtains, put the bed frame together, put dishes in cabinets, hang photos, etc. All of these levels of service are completely free to our clients and partner agencies. Our furniture and household items come from donors all over the community. Donations are dropped off at our warehouse for our volunteers to clean, prepare, repurpose, sort, and pack for clients. We also offer a pick-up service for donors that are unable to bring their furniture donations to our warehouse. This pick-up service is reliant on volunteer power!
