Mission Statement
The Urbandale Food Pantry is a collaborative community effort to reach out to our neighbors to provide food assistance with dignity and compassion.
About This Cause
The Urbandale Food Pantry opened in October, 2008 in response to a community-wide needs survey completed by the members of a large Urbandale church congregation. The Urbandale Food Pantry serves residents of Polk County. Its services are open to all residents and proof of economic need is not required to obtain food and personal care items. Clients can utilize the pantry one time each month for a three-day emergency food supply and personal care item bag, or they can stop in during any of our office hours to receive bread and fresh produce, when available. The Urbandale Food Pantry is one of the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) food pantries where it obtains its food supplies.
