Mission Statement
Divine Equine's mission is to serve our community by offering therapeutic riding to children and adults with disabilities. A place where therapy is being done from the back of a horse and fun happens instead of work. Divine Equine Therapeutic Riding Center is a place where Cognitive, Physical, and Emotional challenges can be met.
About This Cause
We provide our riders with a horse and a Certified PATH Instructor. At the same time, making every effort to involve family members of riders in the therapeutic process. We offer a safe haven for families desiring a sense of normalcy, where they can meet others who are working through similar struggles. Our Veterans with PTSD, Parents, children, and siblings of riders can participate in our program, strengthening bonds between siblings and giving the family a fun activity to engage in together. By offering equine therapy to those in Grayson, Fannin, Hunt, Collin, and Bryan, OK counties that are dealing with physical, emotional, and mental illness, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD, DE is not only improving the lives of our riders who directly benefit from our services. We are helping the families of our riders who see the results of positive coping skills, experience better communication with their riders, and observe better safety practices being followed in the home; in our Volunteers, who are empowered to improve their community wellness; our community, including the professional who regularly interacts with our riders - Teachers, Judges, Law Enforcement and Probation Officers, Health Care Workers, Counselors; Employers, who notice the discipline, focus and respect learned through equine therapy, and the skills, that transferable to almost any job situation; our neighbors, fellow students, and coworkers. We work alone side Therapists, Doctors, Judges, Clinics, Schools, Children, and Adolescent Agencies, to help improve the quality of life and the riders to become leaders in their community.
