KART RACING FOR HEROES

DENVER, Colorado, 80247-1906 United States

Mission Statement

Our mission is to raise public awareness about impaired driving and to thank veterans, police, firemen and first responders who face casualties and carnage on our roadways everyday. The Heroes are introduced to kart racing as a means of combating stress without the use of alcohol or drugs.

About This Cause

Our organization uses kart racing to bring public awareness to the perils of impaired driving, to provide an opportunity for the public to say 'Thank you' to our military, police, fire fighters and first responders who protect us and deal with the carnage impaired driving leaves on our roadways everyday and to introduce karting as a means of reducing stress without alcohol or drugs. Three to five KART RACING FOR HEROES events are held at kart racing tracks across Colorado and serve 125 - 150 Heroes each year. At each event, 5-10 five member Heroes teams race go-karts in a fun-filled competition for awards and bragging rights. At no cost to them, we provide the Heroes with karts, equipment and track support, a meal, beverages and snacks as well as awards and T-shirts commemorating the event. The public can interact with the Heroes, try impaired vision goggles and are offered a multitude of alternatives to driving impaired.
