Mission Statement
Foundations Early Learning & Family Center, a Christ-centered preschool in Fairfield, AL, believes that all children should have access to a quality preschool education. Since opening our doors in 2013, Foundations has worked with over 300 at-risk children and their families to help prepare them for success in school and life. Research shows that developmental delays can emerge without proper interactions and stimulation, but with quality preschool programing, health screenings and parent involvement, different outcomes are possible. Our programs seek to prevent developmental delays while fostering school readiness.
About This Cause
Currently serving approximately 70 children with two 4K classes, two 3K classes, an infant/toddlers class, and an after-school care program, Foundations offers the best-known practices in early childhood education in an academically, physically, socially & spiritually nurturing environment. Foundations intentionally chose the under-served area of Fairfield, AL where, oftentimes, parents are unaware of the importance of the first 5 years of life in the development of their children and how it affects their future success. Our goal is to come alongside parents to help equip them to best facilitate their children's development and to prepare them for school. Research has shown that early intervention services for at-risk children that target both child and parent/caregiver have been successful in improving positive short- and long-term outcomes for children. We believe this work is important because it provides families with information and support that they need and desire to help prepare their children for kindergarten. Children who enter kindergarten prepared are more likely to advance and achieve at grade level and can go on to develop the skills needed to succeed. Statistics show that students who receive a quality pre-K education go on to graduate high school, be employed and own a home. We believe that a quality early childhood education is a crucial investment in helping students succeed - it is an investment in the future of our communities and restoring the American dream. We also believe that working directly with parents impacts each child in a family, increasing the likelihood of positive family and community change, breaking cycles of generational poverty.
