So that all people know they belong

About This Cause

From Caballeros in Mexico, Native Tribes of North America and the original “Cowboys” who were slaves, horses have a long history with indigenous and communities of color. Our program uses that historical connection to teach social connected-ness through herd dynamics. Horses are prey animals whose survival is dependent on peaceful existence within each herd. By exploring our “herds”we have a better understanding in our place in the world. We work through community involvement and leadership training to educate, inform and serve Latinx and other under-served people. Our unique equine programs offer leadership training to youth and adults alike. We also work with autistic children to offer equine therapy. As part of a larger consortium of Latinx groups we have offered health and legal resource fairs. Our outreach in the city also includes teaching sustainable gardening and healthy eating in an urban setting.
