About This Cause
Sarah’s Heart is a nonprofit program of Sharing Hearts Texas founded in May, 2012. We came together to develop programs that honor life and support individuals and families. The founder had a vision to increase support to families and individuals experiencing loss through miscarriage, stillbirth and early infant death since her niece Sarah was stillborn. Parents and families often express a lack of support as they try to honor the life of their babies and process their grief. With the help of many generous sharing hearts we are celebrating the lives of these babies and honoring the need to mourn. Our services include professional counseling, support groups, remembrance services and “Comfort Boxes.” The “Comfort Boxes” are given to women in the hope that it will bring some comfort to mothers after the loss of their precious babies in the hospital. Currently, we distribute boxes in Methodist, University and SAMMC Hospitals. Each Comfort Box includes: A book about grief and loss associated with miscarriage, stillbirth and early infant loss Starbucks© Gift Card ($10.00) A journal "Remember" Willow Tree© Figurine A teddy bear Sarah's Heart program information
