Mission Statement
Kier's Kidz helps children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and their families by providing grocery and gas gift cards to them, helping them with other bills, and helping them find other nonprofit and for-profit resources available to them. We help underwrite pediatric cancer research at two institutions, both of which share their work and results with the oncology world. Kier’s Kidz has established the Imam Sultan Project, through which we help an oncology center make its environment warmer, more relaxing, and more friendly. . We are proud to engage grammar, high school, and college students in accomplishing our mission, making them partners in philanthropic and educational work. We also have an affiliate student group at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, called Kier's Kidz at Rutgers, and an affiliate student group at Williams College called Kier’s Kidz at Williams College.
About This Cause
We help young adults, teens, and children with cancer by: 1. Providing emotional support. 2. Providing limited financial assistance for cancer patients. 3. Locating other resources, such as other nonprofits, energy cost-reduction services, and medical/pharmaceutical cost-reduction services, for the child, adolescent, young adult, and their families. 4. Setting up and running bone marrow donor drives. 5. Providing cancer family support. 6. Supporting research to find new cancer treatments and ways to lessen the deleterious effects of treatment through the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the Childhood Cancer Therapy Development Institute at Beaverton, Oregon. 7. Providing planning and assistance in helping oncology treatment centers become warmer, more relaxing, and more friendly. 8. Coordinating with other nonprofits that offer support services for cancer. 9. Proposing and helping to develop a trail-blazing undergraduate course, “Introduction to Cancer,” at Rutgers University. 10. Working closely with student members of our affiliated groups, Kier's Kidz at Rutgers University and Kier's Kidz at Williams College, and with our High School Advisory group.
