The YMCA mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We are a cause driven organization that focuses on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
About This Cause
For nearly 70 years the YMCA of Rapid City has served the community by providing programs and services to meet physical, social, mental and spiritual needs. This rich history began with a small downtown building and has expanded to a presence around the city. You won’t need to look very far to see YMCA success stories involving members of all ages. We offer scholarship Y memberships so that everyone in our community, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Our programs include afterschool programing at 16 sites, summer day camp, youth sports, swim lessons, youth leadership, youth golf, unicycle club, fly fishing, early childhood education and much more. By nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility, strengthening community is our cause.
