Mission Statement

The Duncantell Foundation is dedicated to offering support and necessary resources to empower survivors to lead lives free from abuse. By equipping them with the tools to cultivate healthier relationships and regain their autonomy following experiences of relationship abuse, the foundation aims to facilitate their journey towards healing and empowerment.

About This Cause

The Duncantell Foundation envisions a world where relationships can flourish free from violence, especially in marginalized communities where individuals affected by trauma resulting from domestic abuse, known as IPV (Intimate Partner Violence), mental health issues, and substance abuse, lack adequate support. The Duncantell Foundation aims to assist survivors in their journey towards healing, equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive. By implementing innovative, trauma-informed practices that prioritize the survivor's well-being, the Duncantell Foundation seeks to address the destructive impact of unresolved trauma on individuals and their loved ones. Central to this mission are trauma treatment recovery centers, essential components of The Duncantell Foundation's program. Through a range of services including expressive arts, music, theatre, empowerment and grief groups, comprehensive counseling, DV classes, training programs, anger management, and DV Batterers Intervention classes, survivors are empowered to recognize past trauma, address its repercussions, and adopt healthier coping mechanisms. It is crucial to underscore the often-overlooked impact of domestic abuse on children and youth, who also suffer as victims. The Duncantell Foundation advocates for justice for abuse victims through treatment, research, education, training, advocacy, and activism. By fostering an environment that promotes healing, self-worth, and empowerment, the Duncantell Foundation aims to help survivors break free from the cycle of abuse, offering a path to renewed self-esteem and emotional well-being. Through initiatives like "Let the Healing Begin," survivors are encouraged to reclaim their power, fostering stability for themselves and their families by eliminating barriers that perpetuate abusive situations.
