Mission Statement
Our nonprofit networking organization strives to bridge the gap for Vietnamese Americans and their communities by acting as an outlet for building connections and resources. In doing so, we hope to foster new opportunities and novel ideas to move our community forward while still preserving our Vietnamese heritage.
About This Cause
The Vietnamese American Limited Thang Long, also known as the Networking Organization for Vietnamese Americans (NOVA), is a non-profit organization that bridges the gap for Vietnamese Americans residing in the greater Boston area. NOVA is comprised of committed members and passionate volunteers from all over Massachusetts, primarily young-adult participants. Some of our main focuses include creating new concepts, providing resources, and discovering new opportunities to promote growth in our community while preserving our rich Vietnamese cultural heritage. In addition to hosting various cultural events, we also provide much-needed social services such as immigration and citizenship assistance, computer literacy courses, as well as financial and business tools. Additionally, NOVA partners with the Vietnamese American Community of Massachusetts, Fields Corner Main Street, Dorchester Arts Project, Living Art and other community organizations and citizen groups in the Fields Corner area to fund and support cultural festivals and historical commemorations each year. These community events celebrate Boston’s diversity, sense of inclusion, and showcase our heritage and the arts to younger generations and the community at large. In the last five years, NOVA has taken an active role in ensuring that the Vietnamese residents of Boston have adequate voice and representation, cultural exposure, and access to the services and resources they may need to better their lives. We plan and host cultural events and festivals regularly for our community’s enjoyment while also educating later generations about our rich cultural heritage through traditional dances, songs, practices, and storytelling. Our cultural events, festivals, workshops and other programs in this neighborhood, uniquely draw in Boston’s Vietnamese populace and allow them to feel a sense of belonging and identity.
