Mission Statement
People who want to make a difference usually know they cannot cure cancer, but they often don't know what they can do. For someone fighting cancer or other hardships, sometimes just a little help goes a long way. The Kathryn R. Nelson Memorial Foundation's purpose is to help cancer fighters and provide them with relief and simply to find ways to brighten their day. The Organization is strictly volunteer, so no donations go to pay salaries--100% of all donations are gifted to those we are trying to help.
About This Cause
As part of our mission to provide relief and brighten the days of cancer warriors, we provide the following goods and services: -A freezer full of frozen meals just before surgery. -Maid and lawn services during chemotherapy treatments. -Grocery shopping during chemotherapy treatments. -Blogs or social media pages so families and friends can stay up to date on treatments. -Gift card baskets so families can get out of the house without worrying about the costs. -Family photography packages. -Chemo care kits upon diagnosis full of helpful items such as pajamas, comfortable slippers and blankets, journals, fragrance free hand cream and soap, mints, movie gift cards, book store gift cards, etc. -End of chemo celebrations. -Fun events at children's hospitals where we give dress up clothes, crafts, art supplies and toys to cancer kids. -A family get away. Sometimes our help is simply in the form of a visitor, a text or phone call to help the cancer patient remember they are not alone in their fight.
