Mission Statement
SOWW MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of SOWW, its members, and its volunteers to provide unique outdoor experiences to the deserving men and women of our U.S. Special Operations Forces that have sustained wounds in battle and or in significant service to our Country. Our distinct purpose is to recognize their sacrifices, aid in their rehabilitation by mending the strains of their many sacrifices, and to provide strength and comfort, all with our sincerest expressions of gratitude.
About This Cause
About Us: SOWW (Special Operations Wounded Warriors) was formed in august of 2012 for the distinct purpose of providing outdoor experiences to a select group of both active duty and veteran U.S. Military Special Operations Forces, that have received wounds in battle, and that have received our Country’s prestigious Purple Heart Medal. SOWW was founded by a small group of five individuals comprised of U.S. Military Special Forces Veterans, local businessmen, and avid outdoorsmen. SOWW was started for the intent of offering thanks and fellowship to the men and women of our Special Operation Forces who have sacrificed so greatly for our own personal freedoms and safety. It is the belief of SOWW that we truly can make a difference in the life of a service member who has chosen to put their safely at risk while defending our freedoms and that has suffered personal injury in that endeavor. SOWW feels that there is not a more deserving group of individuals than our Special Operations Forces members that frequently stand in harms way for the protection of our freedoms, often with little or no recognition. These men & women pay not only a physical and mental price during their service to our Country; some have paid the ultimate price, for their fellow man. For those that return home, often with the never fading scars of their conquests, SOWW exists to demonstrate our Country’s appreciation of their efforts and contributions. It is our objective to help bridge the gap from military service to the enjoyment of the freedoms that they fought so courageously to defend. Funds raised by SOWW helps finance events for outdoor experiences which include, but not limited to various types of hunting, in-shore fishing, off-shore fishing, camping, boating, hiking, golf vacations and family vacations. SOWW also provides PTS training and placement of services dogs for deserving special operators. This includes paying for lodging, meals, hunting gear and clothing, fishing equipment, license, targets, ammo, safety gear, transportation expenses and other items necessary to provide safe and successful events.
