Mission Statement
Cure In Sight was founded to provide ocular melanoma awareness, support, education and funding for life saving treatments for those who suffer from ocular melanoma while supporting the whole family. A registered non-profit who’s mission is to provide the highest level of patient eduction in a kind and clear content while offering support for the newly diagnosed and their caregivers. Through our outreach, partnerships, website and social media, ACIS strives to reach the ocular melanoma community and help bridge the gap between patients, physicians and insurance providers. ACIS strives to create new programs that are patient centered to improve the quality of life while battling ocular melanoma.
About This Cause
The objective of ACIS is to continue to educate the public so that ocular melanoma is not an unknown disease. Our continued efforts to reach the general public about yearly dilated eye exams and to ask critical questions during these exams will prevent patients from being misdiagnosed and receive timely treatment. The better educated a patient, the better their outcomes will be. By educating the patient and caregivers the better they will be equipped to speak to their treatment partners to find the best treatments available. Working to develop a uniform treatment and follow up protocol will allow the patients to have access to timely and accurate follow up care and scanning. Providing support to both the patient and caregivers will allow them to connect with others and not feel alone in the fight and learn from others who have been there. By providing vacations as a respite from ocular melanoma without cancer being the primary focus will allow those with advanced disease an opportunity to connect with critical support persons in a relaxing environment. Continued development of awareness products will allow people to feel connected to the ocular melanoma community while spreading awareness. Our ribbon jewelry allows people with and without OM to show their support for those fighting the disease. Since our start in 2012, ACIS has been a driving force behind uniting the OM community and removing corporate divisions by uniting with other non-profits and supporting corporations. As we continue to reach out to corporations that manufacture treatment supplies, develop new treatments, and manufacturers of new drugs, our goal is to have transparent community with the patient as the first priority. Through these partnerships ACIS will maintain the priority of the patient and supporting caregivers.
