Mission Statement
Our mission is to be a state-of-the-art, culturally and linguistically competent health care facility to provide a medical home to the uninsured and underserved residents of Clarkston and surrounding communities
About This Cause
The Clarkston Community Health Center (CCHC) was founded in 2013 in the heart of one of the most diverse communities in America: Clarkston, Georgia, a community just outside of Atlanta. Home to a significant population of resettled refugees and immigrants, as well as native-born Americans, the community has significant unmet healthcare needs. CCHC annually serves thousands of immigrants, refugees, uninsured, and underinsured patients in need of medical care. Since our inception, CCHC has been primarily volunteer run and led, allowing us to provide critical and specialty care with limited budgets. This activity has been conducted by physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel, in partnership with students who rotate through the clinic as part of their medical training. Our current partnering educational institutions include Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, Georgia Tech, Morehouse School of Medicine, Mercer University, Clayton State University and University of North Georgia. Hundreds of volunteer physicians, nurses, and students enable CCHC to provide a level of care and expertise that would otherwise be unavailable to the vulnerable population we serve. Since our founding, we have treated over 10,000 individual patients, and currently have 5,500 active patients.
