Mission Statement
The EPICENTER works to EMPOWER people, STRENGTHEN families, and BUILD a sense of community and trust in the communities we serve. We serve the communities of Edgewood, Aberdeen and Fallston through our three centers. We also have two thrift shops that are focused on providing affordable clothing to our underserved neighbors.
About This Cause
Driven by our love for Edgewood and the people who call it home, The EPICENTER launched in 2013 with a mission to empower people, strengthen families, and build a sense of community and trust in Edgewood and now Aberdeen, providing a place for children and adults to grow, learn, serve, and give back while making friends and having fun. Today, we offer a broad spectrum of programs in four focus areas (Youth, Health and Wellness, Life Skills, and Recovery). Our programs impact more than 10,000 community members each year through 3 locations. Some of our signature programs include our after-school program and summer camp for students in grades K-8, our weekly food pantries, community cafes, free showers for guests facing homelessness or in transition, free open gym times for the community, among many others. Additionally, The EPICENTER hosts special events for the community throughout the year, such as the Project Connect, non-profit advisory groups, AA and NA, FCA basketball clinics etc. The EPICENTER's headquartered location is in the heart of Edgewood, Maryland.
