Mission Statement
The Merriman Financial Education Foundation believes "knowledge is power" and is dedicated to providing comprehensive financial education to investors at all stages of life, with information and tools to make informed decisions in their own best interest and successfully implement their retirement savings program.
About This Cause
The Foundation is committed to providing educational information on investing during the accumulation period as well as during retirement. The educational information is available through a website (paulmerriman.com), on weekly podcasts (Sound Investing), bi-weekly articles on the Retirement page on Marketwatch.com, and through videos available to the public on the Foundation site or other sites for CPAs. Paul Merriman and others in the Foundation write articles for the American Association of Individual Investors and other sites. The Foundation underwrites a quarterly course on Personal Investing (216) at Western Washington University. The Foundation was instrumental in proposing the course and working with the instructors to develop the curriculum, The Foundation also offers free books online for first time investors. The Foundation also offers recommended ETFs and mutual funds at Fidelity, Vanguard, and Schwab.
