Mission Statement
GSD Rescue/Sanctuary Indy's mission is to save German Shepherd Dogs that may not survive in a shelter environment based on age, health, or temperament. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the rescue has saved over 1100 dogs since 2011. The rescue has transitioned into primarily a sanctuary so that seniors and those with long-term illness, deformities, or non-dangerous negative temperament have hopes of survival.
About This Cause
GSD Rescue Indy operates as a rescue/sanctuary/shelter for German Shepherd dogs located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The rescue is located on a 6-acre farm with wide open spaces, all fully fenced. The dogs all enjoy window views and doors open for fresh air and the best mental stability as possible. The dogs normally spend months to years with the rescue because so many are not highly desired by the majority of interested adopters. Dogs are all provided excellent vet care with several suppportive local veterinarian clinics. The rescue specializes in fear aggression, hospice care, and senior care.
