Mission Statement

Founded by Veterans to serve Veterans, we exist to effect long-term and tangible change in the lives of Veterans and their families. Our mission is to ensure that Veterans and their families receive programs and services that will help them acclimate back to family and civilian life. We will accomplish this by: Providing highly trained psychiatric and mobility service dogs and therapy dogs to veterans of all eras suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and physical limitations at no cost Connecting Veterans to employment and housing opportunities within our network of Veteran-focused organizations Building a community of peer support for Veterans and their families through programs, events, and social media

About This Cause

The Battle Buddy Foundation is the only national non-profit organization founded by veterans with the combined mission of assisting other veterans in the acquisition of psychiatric and mobility service dogs, providing a network of peer support and activity, and promoting education and awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and the current veteran suicide epidemic. The most recent and comprehensive study completed and published by the Veterans Administration in 2012 indicates an average of 22 veterans are committing suicide every single day. “Founded by Veterans to Serve Veterans,” The Battle Buddy Foundation (TBBF) exists to effect long term and tangible change in the lives of veterans of all eras. TBBF is dedicated to making a positive, healing impact in the lives of injured veterans by providing psychiatric and mobility service dogs at no cost. We provide an opportunity for veterans to “continue the mission” through personal responsibility in our service dog program, and to give back through volunteer work and community events. We provide a channel for veteran and family support through our Veteran Peer Program and National Community Veteran Resources. TBBF is dedicated to educating the public and corporate sectors regarding the issues currently facing our nation’s veterans. TBBF’s efforts are to ensure that veterans and their families receive programs and other benefits by addressing the much needed long-term care and support of psychological symptoms, while providing linkage to rehabilitation, housing, employment and other opportunities within our network of Veteran-focused support and care organizations. The United States government's 2015 plans of special funding to veteran programs and other financial resources for veterans, has created more opportunities in which our foundation is positioned to ensure the development, implementation, and support of every program possible with appropriate services, to assist in the ongoing efforts to help our veterans and their families by creating and offering opportunities.
