Mission Statement
Through education and preventive services, Ready Set Smile prepares and empowers all children in our community to care for their oral health.
About This Cause
Our vision is that every child in our community will have an opportunity to be free of dental disease. Many children in underserved communities do not receive regular, if any, dental care. RSS provides a dental home within schools so that children can have access to semi-annual exams and treatments. In addition, we provide regular oral health education in classrooms. Leading with our belief that care in the school should be non-traumatic, our proactive model of care builds trusting relationships through the use of preventive services and non-invasive procedures. Through our schools, early childhood programs, community health service organizations, and community partners, RSS reduces the oral health disparity that exists in Minnesota. RSS is committed to delivering access to dental care paving the way toward healthy futures. Because we are the only dental home for most of the children we see, we are able to make an impact on dental disease within each school over time. RSS has documented positive outcomes for the past five years. Our impact has been significant: a 25% reduction in the number of children with untreated decay and a 30% reduction in the number of teeth with decay after four consecutive visits.
