Mother Nation is a Native American led charitable non-profit organization supporting the success of homeless Native American /Alaskan Native women and families desiring a new life full of healing and wellness.

About This Cause

Mother Nation is a unique 501 (C) (3) Non-profit charitable organization which offers cultural services, advocacy, mentorship and homeless prevention devoted to support the success of Native American Women and their families. Services are custom-designed to fill in the gaps of the underserviced population of Native Women and children homeless seeking safety and shelter to reach goals of employment, family reunification through existing programs and partnering with local Tribes and off-reserve Native and non-Native agencies. Mother Nation serves single fathers and young men and women in case management, advocacy and cultural services offered by Native American Staff and Elders. The goal of Mother Nation is to give hope and inspire participants to reclaim their cultural identify, learn to overcome obstacles to a life free from violence and trauma. By acknowledging the past and re-learning who we are as a Native people today, Mother Nation has supported over 2000 women and 480 families since our inception to securing housing, reuniting with family, maintaining sobriety, employment and returning to school with mentors joining the team. Mother Nation builds on the strengths and cultural resiliency of its participants to portray the beauty, strength and sacredness of Native American culture. We offer training to front-line staff, advocates and Tribal social service staff and Leadership in areas of grief and loss, historical trauma, sexual abuse and the impacts of violence against women on survivors, family and community. Mother Nation Advocates support women and children during emergencies by providing transports to safety in domestic violence, housing and shelter referrals or homeless verification. We advocate to support long term goals of reuniting families, employment guidance, scholarship writing support for education, and access to legal resources. The Advisory Council of Native female professionals guide advocates in Indian Child Welfare, Domestic Violence Advocacy and Recovery from addictions, with Sexual Assault National trainers. Staff, Volunteers, and Board members include Elders with over 37 years of Sobriety in various roles of Treatment to Founders of Regional Rehabilitation Centers, strong faith communities, Leadership and Master designers in cultural services. Mother Nation also supports Tribes and State Coalitions by offering culturally informed training to support programs of Chemical Dependency, Problem Gambling, Treatment, Domestic Violence shelters and transitional shelters. Services are offered based on a fee for service. We provide all services in confidence and strive to enrich and nurture Native women's overall health and wellness to encourage Native women to become advocates on their own behalf. Since our inception, we serviced up to a thousand woman, community members including young men and women representing over 65 Tribes with women joining our Mentorship Program. Services are delivered to on and off-reserve programs in the State of Washington.
