About This Cause
The Sigil Social Foundation is a non-profit behavioral health counseling center with a domestic abuse and human trafficking counseling program unrivaled by its success. Opening its doors as the first major foundation that accepted Medi-Cal in Temecula was the first step to welcoming an extremely underserved part of our community. Low income and lack of insurance were our first challenges to take on in the community and hundreds of moms, dads, husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, teenagers, and children are very grateful we did. With eight years of research with a research group spanning the world, an extensive legal team, doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists built a powerful new curriculum and understanding when it comes to domestic abuse and human trafficking, we have created the options that we wish were available to us during our times of need. Sigil is the only long-term answer to the problem of domestic abuse and human trafficking because our rate of recovery is ten times higher than anyone else in the world. We are fundraising to build a long-term safe house for domestic abuse families, family members, and slave trafficking victims to escape and recover so that they can learn to love themselves. Because of this, Sigil is a leader in the recovery and wellness community, with the resiliency and multi-cultural integration that our diverse population deserves. Over the past two years, we have worked with many other organizations in the area, including the Temecula Chamber, Valley Young Professionals, the City of Temecula, S.M.U.R.F., NAR-ANON, and Mission of Hope, combining efforts and resources such as offering free or low-cost counseling, coaching, therapy, and psychiatry. We've created support groups for those in need within our community like, The Rape/Sexual Assault Support Group (RSASG). Through our life-coaches and Masters in Social Work volunteers, we’ve arranged scholarships for local people in need, donated essential supplies like toiletries, helped arrange jobs which are now careers, and have bolstered the community with over a dozen paying jobs for therapists.
