Mission Statement
Our program buys toys and clothing throughout the year to give to children in central and southern Iowa at Christmas. Many families are unable to provide Christmas for their children, so we give gifts to children from ages birth to 18.
About This Cause
Christmas is for Children! Christmas is a very exciting time of year for children. The anticipation of new clothing, toys, and of course Santa Claus is something that many children don’t get to experience. Many of us take this for granted. The sad truth is that Christmas time can also be a very dreaded time of year for many families who can’t afford to give their children anything. It must be incredibly difficult to explain to your children why Santa will not be able to come to their house this year. No child should go without toys and clothing at Christmas time, or be ashamed to go to school due to worn and tattered clothing. Our mission is to provide toys and clothing to as many children as possible; not only at Christmas time but throughout the year. We know that we cannot provide for all, but our goal is to provide for as many children as our funding will allow. Our goal is to also make sure that children have proper clothing during the school year. Growing up is difficult, we want to make sure that children are on the same playing field when it comes to clothing. This really does make a huge difference in a child’s attitude when it comes to going to school.
