Mission Statement
Yaqui Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill rescue organization located in Sullivan City, Texas. Our city, along with several surrounding areas, lacks municipal intake facilities, leading many underserved members of the community to rely on Yaqui to help address the urgent need for animal rescue. Our community experiences one of the highest rates of homeless companion animals in the nation. Our mission is to transform animal welfare in our area by addressing the overpopulation of companion animals, which stems from a lack of empathy, education, and affordable resources. Yaqui focuses on several key areas: local adoption, rescue transfer, pet retention, and advocacy programs. Currently, our top priority has become spaying and neutering. We believe that providing a low-cost spay and neuter clinic is essential to making a significant impact on animal overpopulation. We are committed to improving our facility and expanding the programs that Yaqui offers to overcome the challenges hindering advancements in animal welfare.
About This Cause
Yaqui Animal Rescue is situated on an 80-acre ranch in South Texas. We specialize in rescuing abused and abandoned animals. Currently, we care for over 250 animals, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, sheep, and even opossums. As a no-kill, non-profit organization, we rely solely on donations to support our mission of saving homeless animals.
