Mission Statement
Mission Statement: Create a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth and our community through support, empowerment, and education. Vision Statement: Muncie OUTreach envisions a community where every LGBTQ+ person has a supportive environment that promotes safety, physical and emotional well-being, and self-efficacy.
About This Cause
Muncie OUTreach is the only not-for-profit LGBTQ+ youth group in the East Central Indiana area. We provide a safe and positive environment for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth to learn more about themselves through peer interaction and educational experiences. Our programming includes: * Youth Group: Each week, students join volunteers to share their experiences for the week, to learn from educational programming, to enjoy a free meal, and to socialize in a safe and inclusive environment. * Finding Spirit: Meeting weekly, Finding Spirit is an adult support group for trans and gender non-conforming individuals to gather and share resources and life experiences. *Raising Rainbows: Meeting monthly, Raising Rainbows is a support group for parents, family members, and friends of LGBTQ+ youth. This group is a judgement-free zone where members are free to ask questions and process their various feelings and experiences. * Dungeons and Dragons: our D & D group allows students to enjoy a tabletop role playing game involving language arts, math, and interpersonal communication. Although often silly and fun, this also creates a safe space in which individuals can explore their identity through creative storytelling. *Art Club: Weekly meetings where youth can express themselves through creativity. Art is also a great coping skill that can help with mental health.
