Mission Statement
Julia's Grace Foundation works to bring happiness to children with cancer and their families. From giving special moments for the family to share, to providing items to make the long days in the oncology clinic feel shorter, Julia’s Grace Foundation works to bring "happiness, hope and ‘hugs’” to families fighting childhood cancer. Julia's Grace Foundation also grants financial assistance to families experiencing financial difficulties as a direct result of a child's cancer treatment or care.
About This Cause
Julia’s Grace Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in September 2013. It was inspired by Julia Grace Eveland, who lost her battle with Wilm’s Tumor just a week after she started third grade. The Foundation that bears her name carries on Julia’s legacy of generosity and love. Even while she was fighting this cruel disease herself, Julia worked to help other children who shared the same courageous battle. Below is a copy of Julia’s Grace – a list to make you happy. This list was given to us by Julia a few days before she left us. Taking a cue from this list, we knew we had to continue Julia’s mission and started Julia’s Grace Foundation shortly after she passed away. Following Julia’s lead, Julia’s Grace Foundation brings happiness to children with cancer and their families. From giving special moments for the family to share, to providing items to make the long days in the oncology clinic feel shorter, Julia’s Grace Foundation works to bring smiles, hope and “Hugs” to families fighting childhood cancer. Julia’s Grace Foundation also provides local children’s hospitals with “Hug” boxes that are based on Julia’s list. The box is something the child life specialists and social workers can give to a child when they have a rough time at clinic. Currently, we offer a #3 - Watch a Funny Movie box. It contains movie candy, popcorn, and Red Box movie certificates, something the whole family can enjoy. We also have a #5 – Think About Puppies box that is designed for younger children and includes a stuffed puppy, a copy of Sandra Boynton’s book Snuggle Puppy, and a framed print that Ms. Boynton created especially for Julia’s Grace Foundation. We just recently added a #1 – Grab Some Friends and Have a Lunch Date box with a gift card and #4 – Hear Some Nice Music that contains a pillow, ear buds and an I-Tune gift card. Julia’s Grace Foundation also supplies special #6 – Think About Your Children items for oncology families with children in palliative care. We would be happy to speak with your Palliative Care team about how we can support them. We also grant financial assistance or “Graces” to families experiencing financial hardship as a direct result of a child’s cancer treatment and care. We hope that you will take some time to visit our webpage, www.juliasgracefoundation.org, to read more about Julia and our work. Watch a funny movie. 4. Hear some nice music. 5. Think about puppies. 6. Think about your children. 7. Think about what you are going to do in the future. 8. Have waffles and ice cream. 9.
