Mission Statement
The Friends ofJohnston are dedicated to the preservation, restoration and sustainable, adaptive reuse of the estate of the first mayor of Bethlehem to meet the needs of our community.
About This Cause
The Friends of Johnston is an all-volunteer group who have restored and reused an historic farmstead and 44 acres of fallow farmland as an environmental education center, community garden, permaculture orchard, green stormwater engineering, arboretum and trails. We provide programming in practical skills, environmental education, arts, health and wellness, local history, gardening and healthy eating for children, students, adults, all socioeconomic levels and those with special needs and veterans.
