Mission Statement
The Shelter Rescue Project, Inc., also known as Team Stinkykiss, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of homeless and abandoned animals with a primary focus on dogs from local high-kill shelters in the Central Savannah Region Area (CSRA). By working with our committed volunteers, loving foster homes, local veterinarians, and animal shelters, we are able to rescue and provide them with loving temporary care and ultimately place them with well-matched, carefully screened, forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners, by working diligently to educate the public on the importance of Spay and Neuter, Microchipping, Adoption, responsible pet ownership, and the humane treatment of animals.
About This Cause
Our Goals: Reduce Euthanasia rates by rescuing stray and abandoned animals from government owned animal shelters. Secure a no-kill adoption center and sanctuary where rescued pets can be safely sheltered without the threat of euthanasia until adoptive families are found for them, or where they may live out their life in a safe and healthy environment tailored to their individual need. Provide medical care to the neglected, abused and injured animals who would otherwise be euthanized by government operated animal shelters. Rehabilitate hard-to-adopt animals and find them loving homes. Promote the benefit of pet adoption while educating the public on proper care and training. Create an alliance with local open-admission shelters and animal rescues to improve the adoption rate of shelter pets.
