60% of students have no books in their home. DIBS is a technology-based nonprofit solving this problem.
About This Cause
We aspire to build Omaha, NE into the first large US city where every child has access to unlimited books to take home from school - and where they read them for fun, every night. We do so by supporting public school teachers with resources, support, and technology that builds excitement for in-home reading among their students. Picture an elementary classroom where the "cool" thing is to take a book home every night, read it, and be ready to trade it out for a new book the next morning. Through our proven mix of technology and teacher support that's exactly what DIBS delivers.
